Do you want to know how to find yourself in life? How to realize yourself? The answer is simple: you need to get to know yourself. You don't know yourself at all!

Ask someone, the first person you meet, to tell him about himself. The most you will hear are facts from the biography.

What can you tell us about yourself? Who are you? How are you different from others? What do you want? What do you know about how to find your place in life?

We don't know anything about ourselves. Nothing! We live our lives “by touch.” Some were lucky to find their way and take exactly their place in human society, working with pleasure, receiving excellent results and recognition from society. And some people continue to search for themselves even at 50 years old. True, the older you are, the sadder and more hopeless your search looks.

Fortunately, scientific progress does not stand still. New discoveries in psychology eliminate the need to search for yourself through scientific research, try yourself in different specialties, changing jobs one after another. After all, you can spend your whole life searching for yourself and your path!

You can find yourself in incredibly short lines by getting to know your real self, realizing what your unconscious is hiding. So, the path to self-realization - where to start?

In this article you will learn:

  • How to believe in yourself and your capabilities.
  • How to find your calling, clearly understand what it means to find yourself, your abilities and talents, the implementation of which will bring real satisfaction.;
  • How to recognize false targets and abandon them.
  • How to determine your place in society.
  • Why exactly are you trying to find your place in life, while others are not? Why can't you live like everyone else and be content with little?

We need to start with your desires

Because desires are a personal powerhouse. It charges your actions. If you move through life based on other people’s desires (mom’s, dad’s), you are doomed to be lethargic and uninterested. Don't expect success. Desires are a spark. The tank is full of gas, but there is no spark - the car does not move.

What if you have abilities, but no desires?

Then you forcefully do what you don’t like to do, but not for long. Because the energy is running out. Desires are a powerful source of energy; they generate ideas in your soul. And the question is resolved by itself: how to become yourself and how to find yourself in life.

Finding yourself

How to understand what to do in life: 5 ways to determine the purpose of life

Every day, from children to elderly people, they wonder how to find their place in life? Just because a person is self-confident and successful does not mean that he has no problems finding his purpose. Psychology claims that these questions, if such questions arise in a person, then with a high degree of probability they will arise again.

What does it mean to find yourself? If you look at this from the side of philosophy, then the understanding of finding yourself in life is the search for some unique place of stay where the knowledge of the inner self occurs. Psychology claims that spending a long time searching for oneself is a manifestation of depression. If your search becomes too obsessive and no longer brings pleasure, it is better to seek help from a psychotherapist. In some situations, these circumstances indicate the need for rest. Since, often, a person has already found himself, but due to excessive fatigue and increasing stress, he is in doubt mode, and in order to get rid of it, he needs to reboot with the help of rest and emotional relaxation.

While finding oneself, a person enjoys not only obtaining a result, but also the very process of searching for it. There is no universal way to search, but this is good, because this is what makes the process so attractive. I don’t want to make the mistake of giving advice on finding your self, so I suggest, in addition to my advice, to find other consultations, master classes, trainings, and so on on the Internet on this topic that can simplify your task.

What desires are we talking about?

Let's say you want to be rich and famous. Great. What to do to become rich and famous? One went into business for this, another became a math tutor, another is an athlete, someone is a great hairdresser, and someone makes films... What do they have in common?

They all have their own subject of work. They want (have the desire) to work with their subject.

We at ProfGuide have developed a test - choosing a profession based on interest in objects. Try going through it several times. You will figure out which items would be most interesting for you to deal with. Attention: think about what you would like to DO with these objects: not look at these objects, but do something with them. You will receive professions related to the selected objects.

Marika Shine went on a journey to find herself.

I'm standing on the threshold of a new life. And with every breath, my confidence in my decision grows and strengthens - to leave, let go of the past and present - work, friends, this city, current life - and go travel. Never before have I done what I really want, what I dream about so much... And never before have I been so confident in my decision.

All my life I worried about what other people would think of me, what my parents would say, whether they would be proud, whether my relatives and friends would approve of my life choices. And for the first time in my life I feel that only my decision is important.

Many people complain about life; everyone has one or two, or even several serious problems. Almost everyone chooses a job based on the criteria of “demand”, “income”, “prestige”... And all because we are blinkered and do not see what is worth living for.

It seems that happiness will come when the respect of others comes, power, money, when an apartment, a car appears... That is, happiness is postponed indefinitely and the accumulation of material values becomes the meaning of life. These are all attempts to fill the emptiness inside - it seems that everything is there, but something is missing... But what?

I asked myself this question about two years ago. My studies are over, I work at a prestigious job, I have a good salary, and I have a reliable man nearby. And I feel like I’m going through life in the wrong direction. Moreover, for a long time I could not understand what I wanted. In fact, many people don't know what they really want to do. Everyone knows what they don’t want and what they don’t like, and almost no one can answer - what is his meaning in life, purpose, what would bring him happiness...

Since childhood, I dreamed of superpowers. For what? In order to help people and make the world around us a better place. At some point, I realized several important things that simply turned my mind upside down:

  1. What kind of superpowers can we talk about if I don’t own what my body, brain, consciousness gives me? I don’t use or develop even what I have?
  2. You don't need superpowers to make the world a better place. Everyone has enough opportunities to help others. There are enough of them for any, absolutely any purpose.
  3. Do you want to make the world a better place? The best way is to start with yourself.

The book by author Joe Vitale “Awakening Consciousness” helped me answer the question of how I want to live and step towards my goal.:) 4 steps to the life you dream of." The book offers specific training and exercises, literally opening your eyes to the reasons for failures in life. I really worked and continue to work on myself. I analyzed and got rid of fears that prevent me from achieving success and generally make life very difficult... I trained to remove the limitations of consciousness, erase life patterns and ideas that do not allow me to open up, do not allow me to believe in the reality of dreams and fulfillment of desires. I also learned and am learning to be happy. It turns out that you also need to learn this. Just be happy here and now, feel the moment and rejoice in what already exists, in the fact that you live and breathe right now and that there are so many possibilities in this life. To give thanks for what life has given, for every breath and step, for every experience - it creates a personality.

There is a wonderful phrase: “Miracles happen outside your comfort zone.” I tested this rule on myself. The most beautiful inspiring moments happen when you step out of your usual rhythm of life, try new things, meet new people. Life gives you amazing encounters, new experiences, amazing emotions, literally colors the world around you, and maybe opens your eyes :)

Development comes with experience. Sometimes it’s difficult, unexpected, unpleasant. I realized that as I develop and become better, the people close to me also change, start doing something new, and are inspired by the success of the person next to me. Development attracts development. And goodness gives birth to goodness and a spiritual response. These discoveries have so colored my life!

For me, traveling is a challenge, a test of my strength, an opportunity to learn languages, an experience of new activities and life in unusual conditions, in a different society, surrounded by a foreign culture. For me, development is the meaning of life, and travel is just the next step. Interesting, exciting, exciting and important. And definitely pleasant :)

So, I’m going to Panama, and not to the capital, but to the very jungle - the opposite of the familiar metropolis. I don’t know yet what the next country will be. In my opinion, you should always leave a chance for chance and let luck help with direction... I'm about to quit my job (with the complete disapproval of my bosses). I have already collected a list of necessary things, I am preparing to move from a rented apartment, I am getting vaccinated, but in my mind there is only one goal. Focus on the future.

I decided to travel using the “work in exchange for housing and food” method, and collected a small amount of money in the hope of spending only on moving.:) The decision was formed in the shortest possible time, so it was not possible to save much. And then, you always want more money. So I decided that what I could collect would be enough, and I’d earn the rest. This will be another experience - to establish connections in another country, to test myself - how I can cope with the search for income.

The ticket to Panama has already been purchased. Before that, visit my parents one last time before leaving, visit friends in Europe... and move on :)

A little scary. It's scary because you don't know what will happen. The greatest fears arise from consciousness. I am writing to get rid of them. Helps.

Plans: fly to Panama City, then need to get to Bocas Del Toro. The first stop there is planned for about a month. To get to Bocas Del Toro you will have to take buses with several transfers. In fact, it means crossing half the country.

The place where I will spend the night in Panama City has not yet been determined. There are acquaintances of acquaintances who may invite you to stay. I’ll also try couchsurfing - a resource where people exchange travel contacts and invite travelers to their place if they need to stay overnight. Perhaps there will be someone friendly in Panama City. Let's see :)

And now - things, packing, the plane. And luck - where would we be without it? :)

Travel #Travel #meanings

What does any profession consist of?

Since you need to find yourself, look at the matter practically. A profession is always a combination of OBJECT-ACTION-INSTRUMENT. This connection is the seed of the profession. But a profession also has a shell: how far is your work from your home, what kind of team does your work have, what is the character of your boss, etc. The salary is also not included in the grain, but in the shell. Grain is what to do, with what and how. And money is a consequence of labor.

For example, for a hairdresser, the subject of labor is human hair, and the action is cutting, coloring, etc. The tools of labor are scissors, a comb, paints, etc.

Ask yourself: do I want to work with a person’s hair every day (precisely every day, except weekends), talk to a person, work with my hands, using tools. If you don’t know where to study, try taking a special test and get a detailed report, including a list of suitable professions, your personality and intelligence characteristics.

The purpose of life

It’s all about the desire to achieve success, get an education and a favorite, decent job.
However, these are not all the goals that modern people strive for. Much depends on personal preferences, aspirations, tastes, values and even upbringing. For example, in an intelligent family they try to give their children a higher education, teach them languages, and bring them out into the world. In middle-class society, parents strive to instill in their offspring work skills, but higher education is also a priority.

Even the lower classes will never refuse to reach a higher level. But it’s all about habits and lifestyle. By the way, dysfunctional parents may set high goals for themselves, but due to their illiteracy and lack of willpower, they never achieve their goals or desires. However, looking at a negative example, their offspring often rethink the situation and try to get out of the vicious circle.

In achieving goals it is important:

  1. Knowledge.
  2. Motivation.
  3. The desire to move forward.

Not everyone can find themselves in life, but everyone can do it - this is what psychologists say.
After all, in the modern world there are so many opportunities and diverse projects. You need to try different directions. And then someone will be able to make a great movie, another will be able to cure a friend or loved one, and a third will be able to earn decent money, become an excellent musician or create a wonderful collection of clothes.

A person can find meaning in life only by devoting himself to society. Albert Einstein

How to treat pragmatists: criticize them or consider them an example to follow?

How can you find your favorite item?

You will be surprised, but the list of these items is not so long. Again, look at the test. Or come to my live career guidance for schoolchildren and adults to learn new important things about yourself, which modern professions are suitable for you and which are not and why, what to do next step by step and thus find yourself and start working with pleasure. I work in an object-oriented career guidance (this is my own method, based on the work of E.A. Klimov, professor at the Faculty of Psychology of Moscow State University).

Serve what?

Finding yourself in life also means finding what you will serve.

For example, you want to serve science. Very good. But in what way?

You can be not only a scientist, but also a science journalist, science popularizer, translator, manager, etc.

This is please... But even here the task is to find your subject. The manager has one, the translator has another, the researcher has a third. And you must reveal yours.

To do this, you need to listen to yourself very much, take a closer look.

Observe yourself from the outside, like another person: listen to yourself, what you say and how, with whom you feel good, are you a goat on a rope, where do your feet go in the bookstore? There is no need to immediately draw conclusions, but listen to the subtle melodies in your soul. And then you will understand how to become yourself and find yourself.

Thesis one:

The problem is not at all to find yourself among your own roles. It’s about collecting yourself from them.

And not just any way, but in a very specific way. But what kind of image this will be, each of us decides for himself. In psychology, this issue is considered through two concepts: social roles and identity.

Christianity involves filling these concepts with a special meaning, thanks to which a person becomes a Christian. But to understand what this meaning is, you first need to understand what a person’s identity and social roles are.

A social role is a set of expectations that society has formed regarding a person who finds himself in a certain social situation. For example, if you are called up for military service, your social role is to maintain discipline, obey your superiors, fulfill the requirements of the military regulations, and competently protect civilians from attacks by an armed enemy. All this no longer depends on your infinitely rich inner world and pronounced individuality. You are a military man. And society expects just such actions and skills from you.

Society has such expectations in relation to a teacher, doctor, fireman. And the social role of the driver, for example, is that everyone around him obviously expects him to unconditionally comply with all traffic rules. And if suddenly he wants to show some facets of his unique inner “I” in this sense, for this he will have to cross a double solid dividing line or overtake at an intersection. That is, to leave his social role and create a serious danger for others who expect him to conform to the role of a driver.

There are social roles not only in the professional sphere, but also in other areas of our lives. For example, when we go shopping, we find ourselves in the role of a buyer. Which assumes that we calmly examine the offered product, select the items or products we need, stand in line and pay for the purchase at the checkout. And in the cinema we find ourselves in the role of spectator. And other visitors will expect us to not talk loudly while watching a movie, rustle bags of popcorn too loudly, wander back and forth between the aisles, and otherwise interfere with people's enjoyment of the movie.

Man and woman are also social roles, implying specific modes of behavior enshrined in social norms and customs. Therefore, if a man goes out into the street in women's clothing and makeup, he will at least attract the very close attention of others.

There are roles in the family too. A son yelling at his mother looks as unsightly in the eyes of others as a father of a family cowardly running down the street from hooligans who attacked his wife and children.

And finally, another type of role behavior is associated with interpersonal relationships that are regulated at the emotional level - a leader, a “gray mouse,” a family idol, an outcast, a public favorite, etc. Although, of course, no one wants to be an outcast, for example . But since this has happened and some community has put this label on us, we have only three options:

  1. leave this community
  2. accept the role of an outcast
  3. refuse it, taking on the role of a rebel, capable of going against everyone alone.
