I became a teacher under my parents’ compulsion, and I can’t forgive them for it.

“I sincerely hate my job and find it difficult to go to work” - approximately these thoughts overtake every third person in the modern world. Finding a place of work that will pay well and that will give you positive rather than negative impressions is extremely difficult.

However, the very fact that people hate the work to which they devote most of their lives is incredibly depressing. How to deal with such a common problem, and is it worth changing your tired service to something new and truly interesting?

Don't go anywhere

Continuing from the previous point, if there are more disadvantages in your job, move on, just don’t quit your job until you find a new one! According to statistics, a person without a job is worth 20-30% cheaper on the market than a person with the same qualifications, but who works. This could be hundreds or thousands of dollars a year for your family. Also remember that searching for a job in times of crisis can last from several months to a year or more.

And of course, your self-esteem, and with it your requirements, will begin to fall with each month of unsuccessful job searches.

People who hate their jobs “All my activities are pointless: I’m a parasite”

What I hate more than anything is when I show up for a lesson and am asked to do something I'm not ready for. The road also annoys me. I hate driving. Sometimes I’m lucky and a student lives next to my house, and sometimes I go to Yugo-Zapadnaya, to Mitino or, damn it, to Altufyevo. Many people drive to work every day, and it seems normal to them, but not normal for me.

I also hate the first lesson with a student, in which the parents look at me with an appraising look. I usually come in some kind of holey sweatshirt, but not because I’m homeless, but because I just wear such things. But then my parents listen to me talk and take me for normal. In principle, I hate communicating with my parents - they are like controllers on the bus.

I also get annoyed by children who make stupid jokes. And at such moments I have to put on a friendly face. During class, one of my students constantly spins a Rubik's cube, which rustles and creaks. But this is not surprising, because my classes are boring and suck.

I like to do nothing. But I need money to hang out, drink beer, buy myself drawing pencils and cheap clothes at H&M. I chose this particular job because I don’t want to work 40 hours a week, and a tutor earns as much per hour as a simple consultant gets for a 12-hour shift, that is, a mower.

You can easily earn 30 thousand by working seven to eight hours a week, but I don't do it because I'm lazy and because I get terribly stressed when interacting with students. The most difficult thing is to be strict with children. I adhere to a teaching system where the student and teacher are equal and on the same wavelength. We both communicate using either “you” or “you”. But this approach is only good for children who are really interested in knowledge. I always don’t give a damn about students and their grades, I work exclusively for the sake of the mower.

During classes, I constantly look at the clock and wait for it to be over. I often give tests because I don't like talking to children. If a student has not done his homework, I am happy because we will do it now. And I never check assignments at home - that’s what I still lacked.

Several years ago I worked with a sixth-grader who had a very angry mother, she constantly scolded him and slapped him on the head. At the same time, when I came, the boy wanted to just sit and do nothing. I told him that I don't care. During our supposed classes, I did his school homework for him, and then sat on the phone. On tests, he sent me photos of assignments, and I helped him, so it seemed like he was making progress. After some time, I refused to study with him; I became afraid that his mother would find out about the deception.

I don't work in the summer because it's not the season. In May I tell myself that I will no longer teach, that this is the last school year that I will do it. The same thing happens after the New Year, when I also merge students and their parents. I don't answer their calls and just stop visiting them. However, in the end I still recruit new students, because it is a very easy way to make money. Almost like prostitution, although it is, of course, more complicated.

Before the New Year, I earn 40–50 thousand rubles a month, and after that many students drop out, and I earn less than twenty a month. I am supported by my husbands or someone else. Now I have three students, and I earn 16 thousand rubles - this is very little and is not worth the stress that I experience while working.

In principle, I respect any work. I respect the work of waiters, salespeople, janitors, cleaners, and so on - after all, I could have been in their place. My ideal job is one in which I don’t need to travel anywhere and don’t need to communicate with anyone. I don’t like to work at all, I only like creative action. I would love to become a carpenter and make stools and tables if I could. Soon I will take a sewing course and sew underwear for women. But first I need to save some money. I want to give up tutoring as soon as possible; I hope this is the last year I’ll do this.

Don't burn bridges!

You need to try to leave well! No matter how they break up with you. Even if you were fired unfairly, even if you are right, etc. Emotions will pass, but words spoken in the heat of the moment, insults and threats cannot be returned. The people you worked with, including your managers, even if they are, to put it mildly, “idiots,” may be useful to you in your next job (recommendations, contacts, clients, connections, etc.). In addition, these people may have better connections than you, and a bad or scandalous departure from the company can seriously and for a very long time ruin your life and career.

Least favorite job: what makes you dedicate your life to it

“I hate my job, but I can’t quit” - people very often turn to a psychologist with this problem. In response, they hear a completely logical question: why then don’t you change your field of activity?

There can be many reasons why a person endures hateful service:

  • a large salary that does not allow you to leave the company;
  • habit;
  • fear of everything new and unknown;
  • having obligations to relatives or friends;
  • desire to continue the family craft;
  • sometimes an unloved job becomes just a tribute to fashion.

Perhaps the most common reason why a person puts up with a job he doesn’t like is a high salary. Is it possible to voluntarily quit when you are paid a lot of money?

However, in such a situation, a person must think about what is more important to him: personal happiness or material enrichment. Getting up for work every day with sad thoughts, waiting impatiently for the end of the working day and returning from vacation without enthusiasm - can this torment be repaid by financial enrichment?

Another common reason is a simple habit or fear of disappointing loved ones. It seems that the place of service has long been a part of life and there is no point in changing it. In addition, a person is afraid of disappointing relatives or letting family members down, because a change of duty station can result in financial problems.

If a person says, “I hate my job, what should I do,” the psychologist usually tries to bring him to the logical idea of changing his place of employment. After all, there is only one life, and spending it on unloved work is simply pointless.

It's time to study!

Hate your job? Maybe it's not the work, but you! Perhaps you just became bored and uninterested. Go study! It's time! Improve your qualifications, get a new profession, develop a hobby - this will give a powerful boost to your brain and new acquaintances, increase your value in the labor market and distract you from depressive thoughts.

Time is in the wind

Most people spend 8-12 hours a day at work. About 4-6 hours are left for other activities (communication with family, sports, hobbies, personal development). Of course, if you don't sacrifice sleep.

Studies conducted in different parts of the world show that only 25-30% love their job, the rest answer: “I don’t like my job,” and about 12% even hate what they do.

These numbers make us think about how many people suffer every day. Moreover, suffering is not limited to a bad mood and reluctance to go to a job you don’t like, but can result in real health problems.

Don't jump around too often

“A garden that is often replanted does not bear fruit.” — Plutarch

Personally, I immediately throw in the trash the resumes of candidates who change jobs every year and a half. With experience, I have long been convinced that the problem is with these candidates, and not with the jobs they worked, so I don’t give such people a chance to waste my time and the company’s money.

Assess the situation

This seems obvious, but when we plunge headlong into strong negative experiences and feel sorry for ourselves, we often simply do not want to calm down and evaluate the situation rationally.

Meanwhile, understanding what exactly makes us so unhappy is critically important.

Therefore, first of all, calm down and ask yourself a few unpleasant simple questions, honest answers to which will help you understand the current situation.

  • — Do you hate your position or your boss?
  • — What exactly in the content of your work or in the behavior of your management makes you want to send everything to hell?
  • —Have you ever liked this job at all?
  • — Did you like any of your works?

It's clear that banal self-analysis is not what you hope for in the first place. Nevertheless, the answers to these important questions will become the foundation for real steps to overcome an unenviable situation, because they will help clear your mind of unnecessary emotions and focus.

Walk around the interview

If you can’t stand work, go for interviews - this is a very useful practice to “come down to earth.” You may really become convinced that “it’s time to get out” and that you waited so long in vain, or you may realize that what you have now is not at all as bad as you thought. In both cases, it will benefit you! Just remember, you need to do such things very carefully, because... the world is very small.

Always be a good worker

So, you are tired of your job, it is impossible to reach a compromise, there is no alternative in mind, and you are not going to quit. This does not mean that you need to carry out your duties haphazardly. You can hate your job as much as you want, but you have to do it the best you can. Overall, stay strong.

End the day with gratitude for everything you have.

This is a powerful technique practiced by millions of people and described in thousands of books on development, growth, meditation, stress management, etc. I will give two options that I practice every day myself.

Option #1. Before going to bed, you can stand in front of the mirror or simply, lying on the pillow, with a smile on your face)))), say thank you to God, or life, or the universe for what you have, for example, a wonderful and beloved spouse, a roof over head, children, tasty and healthy food, living and healthy parents, etc.

The second option is still in front of the mirror, at dinner or lying on the bed, remember 3 amazing things that happened to you during the day. These can be very little things: sunny weather (especially for residents of St. Petersburg)))), a hug and kiss from a child after work, a walk, a compliment from a colleague, a smile from a stranger, etc.

Both techniques will tune your brain to positivity, without which it is impossible to live normally!

If you hate your colleagues

We all have colleagues we don't like, so we try to avoid them, and sometimes we don't even want to go to work just to avoid running into them. The wrong environment spoils our life. Your happiness depends heavily on your environment, and if you spend 5 days every week for 8 hours in an environment that pisses you off, then you will be unhappy.

Your colleagues play a huge role in your life. They can make you happier, or very unhappy, because... people are social creatures. If you are forced to associate with people who upset you, it will undermine your self-confidence.

What can be done about this situation? There are two tips you can apply:

  • Change your attitude towards colleagues . You need to realize that if some actions of your colleagues annoy you, then these are not the problems of your colleagues. To be honest, these are all just your problems that have nothing to do with your work. You are annoyed by certain actions only because they are associated with your negative life experiences. You cannot control the actions and behavior of your colleagues, but you can control your reaction to everything that happens. Instead of reacting negatively to your colleagues, try to find something positive in their actions. Try to describe yourself on paper to look at yourself from the outside. It's quite possible that you can piss off your co-workers just as much as your co-workers piss off you.
  • Try to avoid communication with colleagues . It also happens that some people are simply incompatible. If you just can’t accept your colleagues for who they are, then just don’t communicate with them. It is important to understand that you are not obligated to engage in small talk with your colleagues, because... your communication may be limited only to work moments.

It will be useful!
