Our whole life proves over and over again that the ability to act is no less important than the ability to think. Repeating well-known actions is an alarming signal of growing laziness. We refuse what requires the development of new skills and increased attention, because we prefer what we love and are familiar with, verified to the point of automaticity. But the brain, like any muscle in the body, must be in good shape. This is the only way he can work to his full potential.
The brain seeks to simplify its life and create as many patterns as possible. On the one hand, it protects you from information noise. But on the other hand, life is a source of change, the speed of which you are not able to perceive without preparation. As a result, when in real life everything becomes “standard”, the novelty of sensations gradually disappears, the fear of the unknown grows and doubts about the decisions made accumulate. The ability to perform the same type of actions quickly is a good skill, but when you reach the “ceiling” in it, you stop developing, and your thinking loses flexibility. This means that you don’t spend effort on overcoming obstacles, which means you don’t know how to overcome new ones.
Remove all negativity from your life
When practicing a positive lifestyle, you must stay away from everything negative, including people, places and things! If something or someone seems negative, then you need to stay away from it. Energy doesn't lie. When you accept negative energy into your life, it creates more negative energy. While positive energy brings good results. Surround yourself with people and things that will lift your spirits and make you feel good!
If you have the ability to stay away from negative people, that's absolutely fine. Typically, these people do not have good intentions for you. Removing these people from your life is a positive action and shows that you respect yourself and your happiness.

They, our mentors, are leaders because they did not give up on their dreams, because with their perseverance they proved to us the fairness and viability of their Training System. Imagine yourself in a big foreign city. You urgently need to get to the airport, but you don’t know how to get there. You rush to one of the passers-by, and he begins to explain the route in a confused manner. After half an hour of explanation, you have already forgotten where to turn after the fifth lane. You turn to another passerby with the same question and hear in response: “I don’t have time to explain, but I’m running there, if you want, let’s run together.” Who will you follow? I'm in favor of being second. After all, if he himself knows where he is going, then he will lead me there too.
Of course, these principles are not written in any set of laws for successful actions, and there is no such law; each of us chooses our own rules in life and everyone has something to add to achieve success. And this is great, because we can pass on to our students everything we have experienced and accumulated. By changing ourselves, we can help other people who come to us for a new quality of life. And even if not everyone understands us right away, I remember that the capable are hindered, the talented are envied, and the brilliant are harmed.

Success.com columnist Nathan Chai identifies the reasons that prevent us from perceiving reality positively and tells us what to do about it.
A few years ago, while I was lying in a hammock and not bothering anyone, a friend slipped me Rhonda Byrne's bestselling personal growth book, The Secret. What can I say? Along with the number of pages I read, my frustration grew. “How can you believe in this nonsense?” — I asked my friend. She reported that millions of people (and she was no exception) had read the book avidly and found its contents extremely valuable.
The main idea of “The Secret,” in a nutshell, is that like attracts like. That is, when you want something, the “law of attraction” works: cosmic forces conspire and fulfill your desire. But I'm a man of science, so I don't have time for all this energy! Well, except, perhaps, gravity...
In general, I started studying the issue.

The mystery of the "law of attraction"
Success psychology expert Brian Tracy, who has studied philosophy, religion, psychology and spiritual practices for 20 years, also firmly believes in the principle “like attracts like.” The Law of Attraction is the oldest tool known to man and an incredibly powerful tool if used correctly, he says.
“You attract people, ideas, circumstances, opportunities into your life that are in harmony with your thoughts,” Tracy writes.
I am not convinced by this statement, because it does not explain exactly how the law works.
David McRaney, in his book The Psychology of Stupidity, describes the birth of our individual ideas about the world around us. He notes that the perception of reality is influenced by cognitive distortions to which the human mind is susceptible. These are so-called thinking shortcuts, used to process information and draw conclusions faster. Our brain is ready to ignore primary sources and objective facts, much more willing to rely on established beliefs when interpreting certain events. Whether these beliefs are true or false, the brain doesn’t care.
Thanks to thinking labels, we practically do not see the world as it is - we simply do not perceive it in isolation from our own ego, emotions, and experiences. We pass information through the filters of our belief system and filter out everything that we don’t want to notice. Why is this happening?
Bias
People tend to snatch data from everywhere that only confirms what they already believe to be true. Surprisingly, we attach less importance to facts that do not coincide with our views. And sometimes we simply ignore them.
For example, if you firmly believe that you can attract something into your life with the power of thought, then you will definitely find ironclad evidence of this and much less anti-arguments. Do you think that someone or something appeared nearby not by chance, but to help you? This means you will subconsciously look for a reason to receive such help.
"Sharpshooter's Mistake"
There was such a story: a resident of Texas shot at the barn as needed, and then in the place where more bullet holes appeared, he drew a target - they say, envy the accuracy. After this, the concept of “sharpshooter's error” came into use. It means a situation where we perceive some random events as interconnected with each other, as if we put that very target on them, and we simply ignore others that do not fit into the supposedly existing pattern. This often leads to incorrect conclusions.
Here is an example from life. My mother's name is Rachel, and my father's name is Philip, my close friend's parents have the same names. We both grew up in a community of 800 residents. All this, of course, looks like a rare coincidence, but not until you know that my friend and I are the same age and our parents are the same age, give or take. At the time they were born, the names Rachel and Philip were very popular. In terms of socio-economic indicators, our families are similar, and it is not surprising that they settled in the same village.
The tendency to see relationships in random phenomena is called apophenia. You are discussing, say, “Star Wars” with someone, and then that same evening, flipping through TV channels, you suddenly come across an episode from this epic. Well, you have to! Incredible! Surely this providence or cosmic forces sends you grace in the form of your favorite movie, since you just remembered it. Congratulations, apophenia is happening.
Self-fulfilling predictions
Did you know that our attitude towards future events affects how they ultimately turn out? We assign emotions to expected situations in advance and reap the benefits of this. Let's say your sister invites you to a restaurant with vegan cuisine. “Ugh,” you think, “this will be terrible.” You go there and come back, of course, hungry and angry. But you set yourself up this way long before you went to this meeting.
Now remember another common situation. Surely it has happened more than once that you woke up in the morning and thought: “S-s-s, another stupid day is ahead!” How often was it successful later? How would things go if you opened your eyes and said to yourself, “Today is going to be a great day?” This is called a self-fulfilling forecast.
The principle of behavioral confirmation works in a similar way. Often we witness exactly the behavior of others that we a priori expect to see from them. Let's say you think someone is arrogant and aloof. Perhaps you will begin to behave with him in such a way that the person, simply for the purpose of self-defense, will be forced to demonstrate the mentioned qualities. You yourself provoke him to this.
Thus, by changing our initial attitude towards a situation, we are able to influence its outcome. You will begin to notice the pleasant things in people and see the positives in any events - and you will be surprised how much everything will change.
The illusion of frequency
We are not able to absorb all the information that comes at us, so the brain ignores most of it. This is how the phenomenon of selective attention manifests itself.
For example, while you are driving a car, what remains in your memory besides obvious sources of danger and individual fragments of your favorite podcast? Maybe still decide on the dish you will prepare for tonight's dinner? Everything else that is not related to your current thoughts easily escapes your attention. For further processing, only information that is a priority here and now remains in consciousness.
For example, when you are single, do you often meet couples? Yes at every step! What color were the cars driving towards you today? You will notice this only if you specifically set such a goal for yourself.
You may have heard of the Baader-Meinhof phenomenon - the frequency illusion. When a person encounters something previously unknown to him and after a short time again encounters the same information, he automatically begins to perceive it as frequently repeated. Although in reality this may not be the case. It’s just that now it has acquired meaning for a person and therefore more often comes to his attention.
In this context, remember two important concepts: significance and relevance. By constantly thinking about your main goals, returning to them in your mind again and again, you will be able to find more effective ways to achieve them.

The results of my research suggested that it is the shortcuts of thinking that are the driving force behind that very “law of attraction.” These labels can interfere with getting the desired results in life, or, on the contrary, they can serve as excellent helpers. To turn them to your advantage, use the following tips.
Remember your most important goals as often as possible so that they always remain a priority in your mind.
Think about the future in a positive way. Assume that everything planned will come true.
Do not forget that it is up to you to perceive various events as random or as related to each other.
Keep in mind that we seek information that aligns with our beliefs. By changing the latter, you can take a new look at the world.

How often should you exercise?
It is advisable that the search for new ideas and non-trivial connections become your habit. To begin with, it is enough to perform any of the above exercises daily for 10-15 minutes. Then it makes sense to incorporate your favorite methods into your regular work. When thinking about how to solve a particular problem, consider inventing your own method to make your work easier.

Exercises to tune positive thoughts
Simple psychological exercises will help you focus on tasks and goals, rather than problems; on the pros, not the cons; on opportunities, not failures. When performed regularly, these exercises can significantly improve your perception of life:
- Journal of achievements. At the end of each day, write down at least three things in a notebook or personal diary that caused a feeling of satisfaction and happiness. This could be dancing at home to your favorite music, going to a teen comedy with your children, or flowers given by your husband for no reason. Keeping this journal will teach you to believe in the best and help you notice the pleasant little things that happen during the day.
- Five pluses. The essence of the method is to find at least five positive aspects for each negative event. It is best to keep a separate notebook for these purposes. This exercise will allow you to learn and benefit from any situation, and will also help you restructure your thinking, making it more alive and flexible.
- Visualization will help you stay positive and achieve success. Visualization exercises are performed after waking up or before going to bed. At these moments the mind is calm. How to do the exercise? You need to lie down, relax your body and close your eyes. Then imagine yourself in a situation that causes joy, euphoria or any other positive emotion. It is necessary to imagine clothing, surroundings, people, smells, sounds, air temperature down to the smallest detail. Then turn your attention to the emotions you are experiencing and try to feel each of them as much as possible.
At the end of the visualization, ask questions to the subconscious: “Why am I overwhelmed with joy and happiness, am I successful and happy?” It is important to remember that the subconscious does not perceive the particle “not”. This exercise must be performed at least 5 times a week .
