Stupid person - signs, causes, features and interesting facts

Today we will talk about the stupidity of people from a scientific point of view.

In modern life, our ability to think clearly and rationally is extremely important. We must be able to analyze information, make quick decisions and learn from mistakes.

However, many times we choose to do things that interfere with our ability to think at our best. In other words, there are things that make us stupid.

In this article we have collected 9 points that are the reason for the emergence of more and more stupid people.

Talk only about yourself

A mature and self-sufficient person wants to get some valuable information from the conversation. Stupid people only know how to talk about themselves, because... they have nothing useful to share. Therefore, if 2-3 dialogues with one person boiled down to his personality, it’s time to abandon such an interlocutor.

Of course, sometimes a person needs to speak out, which can be confused with the conversations of a stupid person. However, if the conversation does not bring any experiences or tell the problem, then you have a stupid person in front of you.

Right

What is the difference between smart and stupid people? The fact is that the first ones know how to admit their mistakes. And they know that their opinion is not truly true for everyone.

But fools never make mistakes (so they think). They are impeccable, the smartest. A fool will argue desperately until he turns blue in the face. His opponent will have to agree to save his own nerves.

This, of course, will greatly amuse the ego of a fool. He will be confident that he has power over other people, has the ability to persuade, inspire, and control. But this is not true, of course. It is simply impossible to convince a fool. Even if all 7 billion people tell him that he is wrong.

Having made a mistake, a fool does not admit it. Having offended a person, he will not apologize. Having heard about the existence of another point of view, he will flare up and begin to prove its insignificance. Why? Because he is always right.

Of course, such people spend their entire lives at the same point of development (if they do not degrade), do not learn anything new, and do not achieve any heights.

the stupidest man in the world

Stupidity

Movie "Cool Georgia"

This wise old woman stupidly does not hear what is not worth hearing. And stupidly, that is, persistently, he pursues his wise line.

Dullness is a lack of consideration, an inability to turn on your head and think. Or turning off considerations, turning off the mind - when it is beneficial.

The ability not to hear what is not worth hearing, the ability not to understand what is impossible or not profitable to understand is part of the ability to lead one’s line and is used by many wise people.

To become dull, that is, to turn off your head and stop thinking, is not difficult; most adults can do it. Some people do this habitually, without changing their facial expression, others use simple bodily keys: widening their eyes while relaxing the muscles around the eyes. The facial expression becomes dull, the head goes into a relaxed state of thinking nothing. How do adults learn this simple trick? From my childhood experience. Children are excellent specialists in managing their intellect; they can easily both think and occupy themselves with something else, more interesting or simply necessary.

Children are not born stupid, children become stupid. How?

Sometimes children become dumb because their parents really insist on it. If you repeatedly inspire a child: “Well, why can’t you think? You live without a head! You are the dumbest in the class!”, then sooner or later even the dumbest child will realize that being dumb is his destiny. Sometimes parents are not comfortable with a child who asks too many questions and argues with them, and then you can slap him on the head and say: “There’s no point in being so smart!”, “Look, what a smart guy you’ve found. Who are you to think? Shut up and listen." Some children agree to this out of fear, some children out of anger: “You don’t want me to think, so please. I’ll become stupid to spite you, then you’ll regret it!”

However, it is wrong to reduce everything to negative parental suggestions: smart, creative children themselves teach themselves to become dumb when it becomes profitable for them, when it helps them in solving certain everyday problems.

For example, we have a family: dad, mom, brother and sister. Parents want their children to study, but what do children want? What is their task? Normal children do not always want to study; they are more interested in jumping, running, and having fun (the option is to sit in front of the TV or chat on VKontakte). In this situation, an obedient child, namely his sister, will sit over his textbooks, and his smarter, more creative brother will figure out how not to do his homework. How? When the sister with the smart eyes figures out the problems herself, the smarter brother sighs and sits down at his textbooks and sits sadly, stupidly looking at these idiotic tasks. All he has to do is act dumb and then his parents will do everything for him. He starts a sad song: “I don’t understand anything here! I can’t do anything!”, and this song usually sounds convincing: he can’t do it great, he doesn’t understand great. He will play his role with talent, and when his parents scold him for his stupidity, he will have a guilty face, sad eyes and a hunched back. Total? His parents will scold him and give up. They will sit next to him and in the next 15 minutes they will do all his homework. If his parents give him a slap on the head for his stupidity and laziness, maybe he will begin to think, but most likely he will act differently: he can be offended by his parents and cry. This is also not at all difficult, then his parents will feel sorry for him, and again he won’t have to do his homework. If this doesn’t work, you need to play for time. Mom is busy, she won’t be able to sit on him for a long time and will just let him go for a walk. “You’re stupid anyway” - go for a walk. And my sister will learn extra lessons, because she is a fool - so smart.

What should smart parents do? Do not swear and have patience: do not allow such games and patiently teach the child to be smart. First of all, monitor the child’s speech, his intonations and bodily format. If your son says: “I don’t understand anything!”, you smile and ask him to complement: “I don’t understand everything here, but now I’ll figure it out.” Reply: “I can’t do it!” you correct it to: “I can do it!” I'm smart"

Let your child repeat that he is smart. that he is talented, that when he listens to his smart parents, he will succeed - everything!

When he takes his briefcase and goes to the table with you to do his homework, let him not drag his feet, let him walk cheerfully and cheerfully. He won’t sit crookedly, but straight; he’ll put his notebook down not anyhow, but evenly and beautifully. Next, watch the expression of his eyes and face in general: watch how he makes a stupid face and correct it. After this, you can repeat the exercise “Smart face - dumb face - smart face” several times with him; you always need to complete the exercise with a smart face.

And where will he go next to such smart, such talented parents!

Dangerous stupidity of people. Real life rulesbookmarks 7

Historian-economist from Italy Carlo Cipolla, over several years of painstaking research, formulated several rules of stupidity that work everywhere and do not depend on nationality, geography and religion. And stupidity itself turned out to be much more dangerous than we could have imagined. So:

First rule of stupidity

People always underestimate the number of “morons” around them No matter how banal it may sound, but real life, unfortunately, looks exactly like this. No matter how hard you try, you will never be able to avoid the following situations in your life:

  • People who seem smart and reasonable to you in words, in a real situation turn out to be absolute idiots;
  • Stupid people always appear at the most inopportune moment, destroying everything around them with their actions.

Second rule of stupidity

Dullness does not depend in any way on personality parameters or on a person’s social status

Over a long period of observation, I came to the conclusion that people are not the same, they are already born either stupid or not, and their entire future life does not affect this in any way. A person can be born stupid, as well as blue-eyed or fair-haired, and there is no way to influence this.

The degree of education of a society does not change the number of stupid people in it.

These data are contained in the findings of several dozen experiments conducted at different universities on several groups of people: students, office workers, workers, managers and teachers. In the group of low-skilled workers, the number of dumb people was higher than expected (First Rule), and I decided that the reason was poverty, poor education, etc. But, as it turned out, among students and office clerks the percentage was the same same. Surprisingly, among professors and teachers, the proportion remained the same, and it did not matter whether it was a university in a remote place or in a large city. The results amazed me so much that I decided to take an unprecedented step and conduct the same research with the flower of scientific thought - Nobel Prize winners. It was amazing! – the ratio remained the same, the number of stupid people as a percentage remained unchanged.

The second rule leaves no illusions, no matter where you live and whoever you communicate with, from high society to a tribe of cannibals, you will always be surrounded by the same number of “morons”, which (First Rule) will always be more than your expectations .

third rule of stupidity

Stupid people are people whose decisions most often cause harm to both others and themselves, regardless of their desires and circumstances.

The third rule divides all people into 4 groups, simpletons (P), smart ones (U), robbers (R) and stupid people (T).

When Vova makes a decision from which he himself loses, but at the same time adds good to Kolya, then he is a simpleton (group P). If Vova creates something that is good for both him and Kolya, then he is smart (group U). And if Vova only fills his own chest, while emptying Kolya’s bins, then he is a robber (zone B). And finally, if Kolya, in order to light the stove, cuts a hole in the wall behind which Vova lives, then he is in zone T and is an absolute idiot.

It is not difficult to imagine the scale of destruction that stupid people can cause when they get into important positions and positions. Unfortunately, each of us can give such examples from real life.

Stupid people are dangerous primarily because normal people cannot predict their actions and their motives. A smart person can understand the robber's motive, since he is consistent - he knows only two operations from the arithmetic course - subtract and divide. The robber can be counted out by installing not only a strawberry trap at the dacha, but also a tripwire in the toilet. It is impossible to understand the logic of a stupid person; he will harm for no reason, without a plan or goals, always unexpectedly and unpredictably. His attack always takes him by surprise, he can sacrifice everything, since he is not able to realize the consequences even for himself.

And even when he has already attacked, it is very difficult to defend himself, since there is no logic in his actions from the beginning.

Friedrich Schiller wrote about this best of all: “The gods themselves are powerless to fight against stupidity.”

The entire history of the world proves that countries actively develop only when there are many smart people in power; they restrain idiots, preventing them from destroying what the smart people have created. In backward countries, the majority of people in power are often stupid bandits, and the majority of the population are naive dupes. This ratio greatly reduces the pace of development and inevitably leads to the degradation of the state and society.

A fool does not doubt his own attitudes

0
In my opinion, this is the height of stupidity. Look at any field of science to see how ideas have changed over time. Something was considered true, undeniable, and then one discovery overturned the entire system of knowledge and past beliefs turned into dense delusions in one day. In addition, rigid thinking, when a person does not know how to be flexible and take into account new knowledge, is a direct path to Alzheimer's. This is what modern research says. But who knows, maybe they will change their minds...

Working with self-esteem

Stop calling yourself stupid! It is very important to free yourself from the feeling of internal discomfort if you really want to start feeling differently.

There is no need to constantly torment yourself trying to cope with the existing problem. When a person calls himself stupid, he thereby admits his own weakness. Most likely, other people will begin to perceive it accordingly. However, it is worth remembering that a narrow-minded person will never think about his own shortcomings.

Developed reflection just means that a person is smart enough. It's just that some people don't know how to value themselves and find their strengths. You need to learn this! Working with self-esteem begins with accepting your individuality. It is impossible to achieve anything significant if you do not try for it.
